Scripture: Luke 9:37-50
Questions:
1) In Luke 9:38-40 and Mark 9:22-24, describe the desperation of the father
whose son was possessed by the demon. Have you ever experienced a
season of life or a life event when you were desperate for answers?
2) Jesus expresses His frustration at the lack of faith found in the crowd (verse
41). Discuss how faith and prayer are necessary in the midst of challenging
life events.
3) An argument begins to fester among the disciples in Luke 9:46. Discuss the
tone of the argument, its themes, and its impact on the disciples. (Also see
Mark 9:33-37).
4) In verses 47-48, Jesus uses a child as an object lesson. What is that lesson
and how does Jesus relate it to the argument the disciples were having?
5) Application: Consider areas in your life where your pride is a hinderance to
the work that the Lord is doing through you.
